I am responsible for you

In every situation

And I love the responsibility

Like I love you

I am always there

Even when you don’t see me

I am the shadow

That follows you

With every step

I am also the hot sun

And the pouring rain

I am everything

When you are vulnerable

I wrap you up in my arms

And when you’re feeling bad

I’m everything that’s good in your world

When you’re caught up in your emotions

Driving yourself crazy

I’m the island of sanity

The one you hope for in your dreams

When you’re desperate for air

I perform mouth to mouth resuscitation

Breathing life into you

When everything else closes in

I take you out for a walk

I’m the daddy that cares for you

The daddy that guides and organizes your life

The father that advises

And puts you in your place

With a hug and a whisper

I am the master that doesn’t settle

That pushes you to your limit

The guide that accompanies you

The friend that always listens

Always there for you

Without judgment

Believing in you

I lift you up when needed

And build you up for the future

Sometimes I’m also the one causing pain

To help you let go
